Dukamneti Online Shops ("Dukamneti", "we", "us" or "our") operates the website at store.dukamneti.co.ke and related pages. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Order and delivery details — when you place an order we collect your name, phone number, delivery location and any notes needed to fulfil and deliver the order.
• Contact information — if you email or message us, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond.
• Account information — staff and shop administrators have accounts used to manage the store.

Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment providers — Safaricom M-Pesa (Lipa na M-Pesa / STK push) and PayPal. When you pay by M-Pesa we receive a confirmation containing your name, phone number, the amount and an M-Pesa transaction reference. We do not collect or store full card numbers; card payments are handled entirely by PayPal on their own systems.

Interactive features and games

Our free games (such as the Girlfriend’s Day game) are designed to need as little personal information as possible. To appear on a public leaderboard you may enter a nickname and, optionally, a dedication name. Please do not enter your full legal name, a phone number, or anyone else’s personal details — a nickname or first name is enough. To prevent abuse and cheating we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address for rate limiting; this hash cannot be reversed back into an IP address, and we do not link it to your identity.

Information collected automatically

• Cookies — we use essential cookies (for sessions and security/CSRF protection) and, through Google AdSense, advertising cookies (see below).
• Log and device data — like most websites our servers record standard information such as your browser type, pages visited and the date and time, which we use for security and to keep the site working.

• To process, fulfil and deliver your orders and to take payment;
• To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
• To operate features such as game leaderboards and verified receipts;
• To protect the site against fraud, abuse and cheating;
• To display advertising that helps keep our services free; and

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make our shop work, and only as needed:

• Safaricom (M-Pesa) and PayPal — to process payments;
• Google — for advertising (AdSense);
• Amazon Web Services (AWS/CloudFront) — for hosting and content delivery;
• Mailgun — to send transactional and support emails;
• Delivery partners where needed to get your order to you; and
• Authorities or advisers where we are required to do so by law.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, order and payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting, tax and dispute-resolution purposes. Game leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboard is active and may be removed at any time.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by law.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site and ads may link to third-party websites we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
